The late Dr Norman Runham

Members will be saddened to learn of the death earlier this year of Norman Runhan. He was a fine malacologist, who was always ready to help colleagues, and will be sorely missed.

Unitas

The next (14th) Unitas Congress will be held in 2001 in Vienna.

Eddie Gittenburger is standing down after 12 years as Secretary and his place will be taken by Peter Mordan of the Natural History Museum, London.

Razorshells clear beaches

The combination of a hot weekend and very low tides on 16th August led to police ordering hundreds of people off beaches in South Devon, after many suffered cut feet by treading on razorshells.
